EC to Host “Run With Reagan 5K Race”

EUREKA – The Eureka College Office of Development and Alumni Relations along with the men of Tau Kappa Epsilon are inviting individuals to participate in EC’s “Run With Reagan 5K Race” on Saturday, April 21 at 8 a.m. on the campus of Eureka College. Participants of all ages are welcome to take part in the event that will also include a 1 Mile Fun Run that will begin at 7:40 a.m.

Cost for the event is $25. Eureka College students may participate for $10. Proceeds from the races will benefit the Ronald W. Reagan Society and the Alzheimer’s Association. All entries will receive a race t-shirt and pancake breakfast. Registration is scheduled to begin on race day at 7 a.m. at the corner of Reagan Drive and Burgess Street near Eureka’s Lilac Arboretum.
The starting line of the 5K course will be at the corner of Reagan Drive and Burgess Street and will continue northwards until going East on James Street, south on Dickinson Drive, and west on Reagan Drive. This square will be completed three times with the last lap being extended north until making a left on College Avenue, ending the event in front of the Commons.
The 1 Mile Fun Run will begin at 7:40 a.m. and will include one lap on the same square course as the 5K event. A pancake breakfast is scheduled inside the Commons immediately following the 5K race. All participants are welcome to join the breakfast.
Awards will be given to the top overall male and female runner. Awards will also be given to the top performers in each of six age groups. The designated age groups are 10 and under, 11 through 20, 21 through 30, 31 through 40, 41 through 50, 51 through 60 and 61 and over. Parking will be available at the East Burgess gravel parking lot or the Reagan Center parking lot. Late-arriving participants or spectators are encouraged to park along the street on College Avenue.

Completed forms should be returned to the Eureka College Development Office at 300 East College Avenue, Eureka, Illinois, 61530. Checks should be made payable to Eureka College.
